Yes, it's such a beautiful film. This particular scene is so great. The tableau, the film screen frames the mini stage. We peer as the audience of the film and the audience of the stage at the same time as the young director places his characters in position. Dreaming, thinking, playing...

This is a fantastic image. I'm thinking about miniatures these days anyway...

and I realize I've never seen Fanny and Alexander.

The color is lush as well--reds, greens, the golden light...especially the earlier, happier days in the film and then when the children move it all goes cold...
